EWING, NJ – Quarterback Louie Bianchini accounted for three touchdowns to lead Rowan University to a 26-0 victory over The College of New Jersey in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Friday night.
The Profs, ranked fifth in this week’s NCAA East Rankings, improve to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The Lions finish the year with a 4-6 record and a 3-5 NJAC mark. Rowan must wait until Sunday, November 11 to see if it receives an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The selection show will be streamed live at

Bianchini (sr. West Long Branch, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) completed 13 of 26 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. He added 93 yards and one touchdown on 12 rushes. Running back Keith Corcoran (sr. Atlantic City, NJ/St. Joseph (Hammonton)) ran for 87 yards on 23 attempts. Running backs Withler Marcelin (fr. Ocean Twp., NJ/Ocean Twp.) and Michael Weber (so. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) chipped in with 58 (15 carries) and 42 (10 touches) yards respectively. Wideout Warren Oliver (jr. Beverly, NJ/Palymyra) made four receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown. Wideout Dan Reed (sr. Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.) collected 44 yards and one touchdown on five grabs.
The Profs’ defense limited the Lions to 167 yards of total offense (141 passing and 26 rushing). Linebacker Darren Dungee (fr. Morristown, NJ/Morristown) led the way with 16 tackles (four solo, 12 assisted) and one interception. Linebacker Dominic Caruso (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) registered 10 stops (four solo, six assisted) and linebacker Patrick Ruley (sr. Margate, NJ/Atlantic City) had six (two solo, four assisted). Defensive end Chris Alvarez (so. Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park) compiled six tackles (two solo, four assisted), 1.5 sacks (-7 yards) and one pass breakup.
For TCNJ, quarterback Daniel Dugan (sr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) had 21 completions in 36 attempts for 141 yards. Wide receiver Glenn Grainger (sr. Island Heights, NJ/Holmdel) hauled in five balls for 55 yards. Wideout Matthew Rosati (sr. Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) made four catches for 37 yards, while wide receiver Kyle Janeczek (so. Allenwood, NJ/Wall) had five receptions for 32 yards.
Linebacker Nick Bricker (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) posted a game-high 18 tackles (seven solo, 11 assisted) and one tackle for a loss (-2 yards). Linebacker Greg Burns (sr. Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton W.) followed with 15 stops (five solo, 10 assisted) and one sack (-2 yards). Linebacker Sean Clark (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/St. Joseph (Hammonton)) chipped in with 11 tackles (four solo, seven assisted) and one blocked punt. Linebacker Michael Lambert (sr. Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) had eight tackles (five solo, three assisted). Defensive tackles Thomas Hoppe (sr. Manville, NJ/Immaculata) and Jeff Adubato (jr. Lincoln Park, NJ/Butler) both blocked one kick.
Rowan took a 6-0 lead at 11:45 in the second quarter on a seven yard touchdown catch by Reed. The extra point attempt was blocked by Hoppe. In the drive, Bianchini completed five of nine passes for 44 yards. He added four carries for 17 yards. With 2:32 left, Bianchini threw an 86 yard touchdown to Oliver. Adubato blocked the PAT. Dungee intercepted a pass to give the Profs the ball on their own 16 yard line. Bianchini hit Oliver on the third play from scrimmage.
At 6:32 in the third, Marcelin scored on a six yard run to make the advantage, 19-0. In the drive, Bianchini totaled 28 yards rushing (two carries) and 18 yards passing (two completions). Corcoran tallied 18 yards on four touches, while Weber and Marcelin had nine yards apiece on two runs. With 5:52 remaining, Bianchini found the end zone on a 47 yard touchdown scamper. Rowan took over on its nine yard line after stopping TCNJ on fourth down. Corcoran ran for 24 yards on four attempts. Marcelin had 10 yards on three rushes and Bianchini threw a 10 yard pass to tight end Chris Garcia (sr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery).
