GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Erika Suhl scored the game-winning goal at 46:22 to give Rowan University a 1-0 win over Wilkes University in a nonconference game on Wednesday night.

Midfielder Nina Fragoso (sr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) sent a pass into the left side of the box to Suhl (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.).  She juked the goalkeeper and shot the ball into the lower left corner of the net.  It was her seventh goal on the season.

The Profs improve to 7-2 overall, while the Colonels have a 7-3-1.  Rowan was tied for eighth in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America South Atlantic Region Rankings.  Wilkes was ranked ninth in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Rowan took 11 shots, while Wilkes had two.  Profs’ goalkeeper Maria Dorris (sr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) made one save for her sixth shutout of the year.  Colonels’ goalkeeper Kate Mahoney (fr. Kingston, NH/Central Catholic) stopped four shots.

Rowan hosts conference opponent Montclair State University on Saturday, October 6 at 1 p.m.
