GLASSBORO, NJ  – The Rowan University field hockey team won 3-0 over visiting Wesley College on Wednesday night.  Forward Kellie Campbell led the Profs with two goals.

Rowan, ranked 17th in the nation, has an overall record of 9-3.  Wesley is 6-5 on the season.  The Profs were ahead 2-0 after the first half.  Back Jenna O’Sullivan (so. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) scored at 5:04.  Her shot was from in front of the cage after a pass from the left post by forward Amy McKeever (jr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford). 

At 8:28, Campbell (so. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) knocked in a rebound.  She had her second goal at 61:25.  Midfielder Marisa Marini (fr. Carneys Point, NJ/Padua Academy (DE)) had a shot that deflected off goalie Elizabeth Groom’s (sr. Bear, DE/Hodgson Vo-Tech) pads.  Campbell then tapped the ball into the cage.  She was named this week’s New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Rowan accumulated 26 shots while Wesley took nine.  Goalie Jen Goldberg (sr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) made six saves for her first shutout this year.  Groom turned away eight shots.

Rowan is home again on Saturday, October 6 against conference opponent Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
