BALTIMORE, MD – The Rowan University men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to Maryland for the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational. The meet was held at Johns Hopkins University.
The Profs competed in four events then returned to the University because of the inclement weather. The women won the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdles relay with a time of 1:04.96. The relay consisted of Jamie Thompson (fr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick), Tiffany Chamberlain (so. Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.), Jacqui Nisbett (sr. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) and Jess Carlson (fr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.). In the 5000 meters, Meghan Borz (fr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) came in 12th (19:12.43) while Ashley White (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) finished 15th (19:36.47) followed by Joy Hanke (so. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) 16th (19:41.25).
Mark Lisa (jr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.) won the men’s long jump with a leap of 18’ 11.25” (5.77 meters). John Grinnell (so. Farmingdale, NJ/Howell) took sixth place in the hammer. He had a throw of 114’ 4” (34.86 meters).
Next week, the Rowan women have a dual meet at Georgian Court University on Wednesday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m.
