CAMDEN, NJ – The Rowan University women’s soccer team won 3-0 at Rutgers-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday evening.
The Profs, ranked 10th in the nation and second in the region, have a 6-0-1 record with a 2-0 NJAC mark. The Scarlet Raptors are 1-5-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference.
All of the goals came in the second half. Forward Jess Babice (sr. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) started the scoring at 48:43. Midfielder Dayna Sakalsky (fr. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) had the second goal at 56:37. Babice had a cross to Sakalsky who was at the right post. Forward Veronica Rhea (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) scored at 66:43 with a shot that hit off the left post and into the net.
Rowan amassed 27 shots while Rutgers-Camden had three. Goalie Deana Wood (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) made two saves for her third shutout. For the Scarlet Raptors, goalkeeper Leighanna Milby (fr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) turned away 11 shots.
