Hayes Records NCAA Provisional in the Long Jump at the Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rowan University men’s track and field team had one individual and two relays compete at the Penn Relays on Friday.

Kyle Hayes (jr. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) finished 11th in the college eastern long jump (event #308). Hayes jumped 23’ 3.5” (7.10 meters) which was a NCAA provisional (22’ 11.75”, 7.0 meters). His previous provisional mark this season was 23’ (7.01 meters) at the Rowan Open (Apr. 9).

The 4x400 meter relay in the Collegiate Track Conference race (event #157) came in ninth place with a time of 3:27.64. The relay consisted of Josh McGriff (fr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.), Jayce Maxwell (so. Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan), Taylor Purdue (fr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.) and Benjamin Bradley (jr. Morris Plains, NJ/Parsippany Hills). The 4x100 meter relay finished 75th overall in 44.95 (event #116). Purdue, McGriff, Cody High (sr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) and Brandon Taylor (fr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) were on the relay.

Sean Corey (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) will compete in the college javelin throw (event 321) on Saturday, April 24 at the Penn Relays while the Rowan men’s and women’s track & field teams will travel to The College of New Jersey for the Lions’ Invitational that starts at 10:30 a.m.
