Rowan Competes at the Penn Relays on Friday

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rowan University men’s track and field team had two individual and two relays that competed at the Penn Relays on Friday.

In the Eastern college long jump, Mark Lisa (fr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.) finished 10th with 22’ 4.5” (6.82 meters). Kyle Hayes (so. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) came in 22nd with 21’ 1.25” (6.43 meters).

Rowan took sixth place in the Collegiate Track Conference 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:26.77. Brian Makinson (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson), Ben Bradley (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills), Jayce Maxwell (fr. Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) and Dan Collier (jr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) were on the 4x400 meter relay. The 4x100 meter relay ran a time of 43.91 in the college heats. The relay included Hayes, Kevin Gauntt (jr. Marlton, NJ/Seneca), Nehemiah Burney-Porter (jr. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and Maxwell.

Rowan will travel to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, April 25 for the Lions’ Invitational that starts at 9 a.m. Sean Corey (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) is entered in the college javelin at the Penn Relays on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
