GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team lost in overtime to Allegheny College, 2-1 in the first round of the Mayor’s Cup Tournament.

Rowan (2-1) will play host SUNY Oneonta in the consolation game on Saturday at 1 p.m. Allegheny (1-1) advances to the championship game against Susquehanna University at 4 p.m. In the opening game, Susquehanna shut out Oneonta, 1-0.

Forward Alex Habay recorded the game winning goal at 108:26. Habay knocked in a rebound after a free kick that bounced off the post. Allegheny ended the game with 18 shots while Rowan had nine. In the Gators’ net, Zane Miller made four saves. For the Profs, goalie Joel Sanger (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) stopped five shots.

Rowan scored the first goal of the game. Forward Tommy Orr (jr. Delran, NJ/Delran) hit the net at 1:39. Midfielder Petterfolf tied it up at 43:46 with an unassisted goal.
