GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College, 3-0 on Thursday night.

Rowan won with set scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-13. The Profs improve to 3-2, while the Griffins have a 0-1 record.

Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) led Rowan with 10 kills and six digs. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (jr. Penns Grove, NJ/Salem County Christian Academy) contributed with seven kills. Setter Chrissy McKay (jr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) dished 20 assists. Outside hitters Alexis Louie (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Karen Ramirez (jr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) added 14 and 10 digs respectively. Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) chipped in with 11 digs and four service aces.

For Gwynedd-Mercy, middle blocker Kailee Davis had a team-high six kills. Outside hitter Monica Taylor posted eight digs, while middle blocker Jessica Rufe had seven. Rufe also compiled four kills and two solo blocks. Setter Kandace Pickeral totaled five assists and six digs.

Rowan travels to St. Mary’s College (MD) for a tri-match on Saturday, September 6. The Profs will face St. Mary’s at 11 a.m. and Goucher College at 1 p.m.
