Rowan Plays Final Two Matches at Spartan Invitational

YORK, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team played two more matches at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday. Rowan lost 3-0 to Eastern University and came back to win 3-1 over Albright College. The two-day invitational was held by York College.

Eastern won the match with set scores of 25-4, 25-20 and 25-15. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (jr. Penns Grove, NJ/Salem County Christian Academy) and Krista Hendrickson (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Summit) each had four kills for Rowan. Bowman also recorded a solo block while Hendrickson totaled seven digs. Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) collected 13 digs and had two service aces.

Rowan defeated Albright, 18-25, 25-13, 25-19 and 25-13. Setter Chrissy McKay (jr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) accumulated 25 assists, three aces and 15 digs. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) contributed with eight kills, four service aces and four digs. Outside hitter Rachel Emig (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) added 11 kills and 10 digs. Roselle compiled 21 digs.

Rowan (5-8) travels to Ramapo College on Tuesday, September 23 for 7 p.m. conference match.
