NEWARK, DE – The Rowan University men’s and women’s cross country teams both took first place at the Delaware Invitational on Saturday. The invitational was hosted by the University of Delaware and held at White Clay Creek State Park.
Greg Kuczynski (sr. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) won the men’s individual title with a time of 27:04. Mike Rivera (sr. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) finished third (27:36) followed by Eric DuBois (fr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) fourth (27:48). The top five was completed by Dan Ratty (sr. Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) in sixth place (28:19) and Eric Thomas (sr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) seventh (28:25). The men’s course was 8K while the women ran 5K.
Jena Peacock (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) won the women’s race in 19:37. Lisa Jones (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) came in third (20:22) and Angela Patane (sr. Monroeville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) took fourth (20:28). Raneeka Doharty (fr. Orange, NJ/Orange) and Alli Catenacci (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) finished fifth (20:40) and sixth (20:45) respectively.
The Rowan women travel to Richard Stockton College on Saturday, September 27 for the NJAIAW Invitational at 10 a.m. while the men are off next weekend.
