GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated William Paterson, 2-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday night.

Forward Amanda Greene (sr. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester) scored both of the Profs’ goals. Forward Kiley Graham (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Shawnee) assisted on Greene’s second goal.

Rowan, ranked ninth in the nation, has a 4-1 record while William Paterson is 5-2 on the season. It was the first conference game for both teams. The Profs totaled 22 shots while the Pioneers only had two. Rowan also recorded 22 penalty corners.

The Profs were up 1-0 after the first half. Greene had an unassisted goal at 29:57. The second goal Greene tipped in Graham’s shot at 66:12. Back Jennie Hara (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) spoiled the shutout at 67:51. Hara blasted a shot into the Rowan net just inside the circle and forward Meghan Hall (sr. Turnersville, NJ/Washington Twp.) had the assist.

For the Pioneers, goalie Christina Auger (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) made 13 saves. Lisa Apt (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was in the Profs’ net.

Rowan is home again on Wednesday, September 24 against Salisbury University at 7:30 p.m.
