GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s soccer team won its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opener over Montclair State University, 1-0 on Saturday night.
Rowan remains undefeated with a 6-0 overall record and a 1-0 NJAC mark. Montclair State is 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Forward Michelle Carrocino (so. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) scored the game-winner at 54:21 in the second half. Forward Jess Babice (so. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) picked up the assist.
The Profs out shot the Red Hawks, 8-4. Rowan goalkeeper Sarah Volkomer (jr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) made one save for her second shutout of the season. Goalkeeper Leah Tepperman (jr. N. Andover, PA/N. Andover) turned away four shots in Montclair State’s net.
Rowan travels to The College of New Jersey for a NJAC game on Wednesday, September 24 at 5 p.m. Montclair State hosts NJAC opponent Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
