GLASSBORO, NJ – The Immaculata University men’s soccer team defeated Rowan University, 2-1 in a nonconference game on Monday night.

Immaculata earned its first victory of the season, bringing its record to 1-3-2. Rowan has a 3-3 mark.

The Mighty Macs led 1-0 at halftime following an unassisted goal by forward Kieran Keelan (sr. Broomall, PA/Delco Christian). Forward Kevin Glenn (so. Media, PA/Penncrest) found the back of the net from 40 yards out at 70:54 to give Immaculata a 2-0 advantage. Profs’ midfielder Jay Vigilante (sr. Manasquan, NJ/Wall) converted a penalty kick at 75:20, but the Mighty Macs held on for the win.

Rowan out shot Immaculata, 17-10. Goalkeeper Zach Oas (fr. Newton Square, PA/Great Valley) made five saves for the Mighty Macs. Goalkeeper Joel Sanger (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) stopped one shot in 72:24 for the Profs. Goalkeeper Mike Boisselle (so. Holland, PA/Council Rock S.) played the final 17:36.

Rowan travels to Montclair State University for its conference opener on Saturday, September 20 at 6 p.m.
