POULTNEY, VT – The Rowan University women’s soccer team won 7-0 at Green Mountain College on Friday evening. It was the Profs’ fifth straight shutout of the season.

Forward Jess Babice (so. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) led Rowan with three goals and forward Michelle Carrocino (so. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) followed with two. Midfielder Holly Bundy (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) contributed with one goal and two assists. Forward Dana Ross (so. Delran, NJ/Delran) added one goal while midfielder Krista Verzi (jr. Delran, NJ/Delran) and back Caitlin Toomey (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) each had an assist.

Rowan (5-0) compiled 28 shots and Green Mountain (1-3) only had three. Goalie Sarah Volkomer (jr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) was in the Profs’ net. For the Eagles, goalkeeper Karen Davidson made 10 saves.

The Profs were ahead 5-0 after the first half. Babice scored the first three goals. Her first came at 3:15 with a shot inside the 18. The second and third strikes were at 10:07 and 19:14 respectively with Bundy assisting on both. Bundy scored an unassisted goal at 20:28. Carrocino had the last goal of the period at 23:31.

In the final half, Carrocino scored her second goal with a feed from Toomey at 53:20. Ross had the last goal of the game at 77:14 with an assist from Verzi.

Rowan starts its conference schedule at home on Saturday, September 20 against Montclair State University at 7 p.m.
