GLASSBORO, NJ – The men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams hosted the Rowan Open on Friday. It was an individual competition.

In the field events, Kyle Hayes (fr. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) captured first place in the long jump with a distance of 22’ 11.75” (7.00 meters). His jump was better than the NCAA provisional of 22’ 10” (6.69 meters). Sean Corey (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took first in the javelin with 197’ 9” (60.27 meters). His throw was also a NCAA provisional (188’, 57.30 meters). Corey recorded a NCAA automatic qualifier at the Wake Forest Open (Mar. 21) with a toss of 214’ 6.5” (65.39 meters).

Antonio Tronco (jr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) won the hammer throw with 91’ (27.73 meters), while Nick Tyson (sr. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) finished first in the pole vault with a height of 12’ 11.75” (3.96 meters). Tim Cook (so. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) took first in the high jump with 6’ 5” (1.96 meters) and Nehemiah Burney-Porter (so. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) was first in the triple jump with a distance of 44’ 2.75” (13.48 meters).

Mike Rivera (jr. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) came in first place in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:51.15. Nick Huddy (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) claimed first in the 1500 meters (4:18.73) and Eric Thomas (jr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) followed second (4:19.02). Dan Collier (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) won the 800 meters (2:01.39). In the 110 meter hurdles, Kevin Gauntt (so. Delanco, NJ/Seneca) captured first in 15.38 and Dan Veres (fr. Howell, NJ/Howell) won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.84.

For the women, Dannielle Warren (jr. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) took first place in the long jump with a distance of 17’ 4” (5.28 meters). She also won the 100 meters (13.39) and the 400 meter hurdles (1:09.56). Angela Patane (jr. Monroeville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) was the winner in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:41.67, while Allison Catenacci (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) came in first in the 1500 meters in 5:12.09.

Rowan travels to the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships at DeSales University on Saturday-Sunday, April 19-20. The meet begins at 10 a.m.
