GLASSBORO, NJ – Attack Caitlin Meseroll scored four goals to lead Rowan University to a 13-6 win over Eastern University on Thursday night.

Meseroll’s (sr. Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Twp.) third goal marked the 100th of her career. In 58 games, she has tallied 101 goals. Attack Lauren Crennan (jr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) contributed with two goals and one assist. Midfielders Patricia Harrington (fr. Suffern, NY/Suffern) and Carly Welsh (jr. Allenwood, NJ/Wall) and attack Alayna Morris (so. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Reg.) had two goals apiece. Attack Tori Hart (so. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) scored once and midfielder Ali Goodman (fr. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) assisted on two goals.

For Eastern, midfielder/attack Grace Griffith (fr. Amherst, MA/Amherst Reg.) and attack Erin Reimel (jr. Ephrata, PA/Ephrata) each found the net twice. Midfielder Jessie Basch (jr. Zionsville, IN/Zionsville) recorded one goal and three assists. Defender Katie Maguire (fr. Radnor, PA/Radnor) scored one goal.

Rowan has a 9-2 record, winning its last eight games, while Eastern is 7-4 overall. The Profs out shot the Eagles, 31-18. Rowan goalie Alicia Mannino (jr. Richboro, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic) and Eastern goalie Kimberly Campbell (jr. Malvern, PA/Great Valley) both made eight saves.

Eastern went ahead 1-0 with an unassisted goal by Griffith at 1:12. Crennan found the net at 2:16 to tie the score (1-1). Meseroll put back a feed from Crennan to give the Profs a 2-1 lead at 5:31. Reimel’s goal at 6:56 tied the game at 2-2. Rowan scored the next four goals to go up 6-2 at 18:44. Meseroll, Welsh, Harrington and Hart had one goal apiece in the stretch. Griffith had a goal at 19:49 to make the score 6-3. Welsh (22:57) and Harrington (25:48) both scored, giving the Profs an 8-3 halftime advantage.

Crennan scored 39 seconds into the second half and Morris found the net 10 seconds later. Maguire cut the deficit to six (10-4) with a goal at 32:49. Meseroll and Morris each had a goal to put Rowan ahead 12-4 at 44:28. Basch scored her only goal at 54:26. Meseroll added a goal at the one minute mark and Reimel had her second goal with 24 seconds remaining.

Rowan hosts FDU-Florham on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m.
