GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s lacrosse team had a 15-5 win over visiting Cabrini College on Thursday night.

Rowan improves to 5-2, while Cabrini has a 4-1 record. The Profs were led by attack Caitlin Meseroll (sr. Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Twp.) with four goals and one assist. Attack Lauren Crennan (jr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) had three goals, while midfielder Ali Goodman (fr. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) scored twice. Attack Tori Hart (so. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) recorded two goals and one assist. Attack Stacie McKinley (jr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City) added one goal and one assist. Midfielders Patricia Harrington (fr. Suffern, NY/Suffern), Alayna Morris (so. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Reg.) and Nicole Valianti (fr. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) each found the net once. Midfielder Kerry O’Donnell (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) assisted on two goals, while attack Alli Dickey (fr. Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) had one.

For Cabrini, attack Katelyn Penrose (sr. Springfield (Delco), PA/Springfield) scored two goals. Attack Erin Nollen (so. West Chester, PA/Henderson) contributed with one goal and one assist. Attacks Jaime O’Hanlon (fr. Springfield, PA/Springfield) and Kristen Vernon (fr. West Chester, PA/West Chester E.) hit the net once.

Rowan out shot Cabrini, 31-23. Goalie Alicia Mannino (jr. Richboro, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic) made 13 saves for the Profs. In the Cavaliers’ net, goalie Kate Schmid (so. Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert’s) stopped 12 shots.

Crennan scored on an assist from McKinley to put Rowan up 1-0 at 6:59. Nollen tied the game at one with a free position goal at 8:33. Meseroll (13:08) and Harrington (16:27) scored back-to-back goals to give the Profs at 3-1 advantage. Penrose’s goal at 17:54 made the score 3-2. Rowan had goals from Goodman (27:21) and Crennan (29:05) to lead 5-2 at halftime.

The Profs opened the second period with five straight goals. Hart scored twice, while Meseroll, Goodman and Valianti each found the net once. The score was 10-3 following Vernon’s goal at 47:50. Meseroll had her third goal at 48:42. The Cavaliers got a goal from Penrose at 50:20. Rowan scored the next four points. Morris, McKinley, Meseroll and Crennan had one goal apiece in the stretch. O’Hanlon scored Cabrini’s final goal with 16 seconds remaining.

Rowan travels to Drew University on Saturday, March 29 for a 1 p.m. game.
