GLENSIDE, PA – The Rowan University baseball team had a 7-2 win at Arcadia University on Monday afternoon.
Left hander Ryan Kulik (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) pitched six innings for his fourth victory. Kulik (4-1) only allowed one hit and he struck out seven batters. Left fielder Keith Evans (so. Audubon, NJ/Audubon) went two for three with one RBI and two runs scored. Right fielder John McMullin (jr. Woodbury, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) added one hit and two RBIs.
The Profs are 12-3 overall while the Knights drop to 4-10-1 on the season. Rowan took the lead with one run in the fourth inning. First baseman Tom Ready (jr. Blenheim, NJ/Triton Reg.) scored on a double play after getting on base with a walk. The Profs went up 5-0 after four runs in the fifth. Shortstop David Lenig (so. Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville) was knocked in by Evans’ single and second baseman Joe Franceschini (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) scored on an error. Evans crossed the plate on a ground out and designated hitter Matt Johanson (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) came home on a wild pitch.
Rowan added two more runs in the seventh to lead 7-0. Evans went home on a single by Ready. Johanson scored the final run on a sacrifice fly by McMullin. Arcadia scored both of its runs in the eighth.
Rowan starts its conference schedule at Richard Stockton College on Thursday, March 27 at 3:30 p.m.
