WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Rowan University outdoor track and field teams opened the 2008 season at the Wake Forest Open on Friday.

Sean Corey (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took fourth place in the javelin. His throw of 214’ 6.5” (65.39 meters) qualified him for the NCAA Division III Championships in May. His toss was better than the automatic qualifier of 205’ 1” (62.50 meters). Sean Biehn (so. Edgewater Park, NJ/Burlington City) finished 12th with a throw of 190’ 3.5” (58.01 meters) which was a NCAA Division III provisional qualifier (188’, 57.30 meters). For the women, Angela Patane (jr. Monroeville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) came in 26th place in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:19.58.
