WINTER PARK, FL – The Rowan University baseball team won 14-4 over St. Joseph’s College (LI) on Monday. It was the Profs’ fourth straight victory on their spring trip to Florida.

Right hander Miguel Sosa (sr. Miami, FL/Barbara Golman) pitched six innings for the victory. Sosa (1-0) scattered six hits and gave up four runs, one was earned. Right hander Mike Swietanski (fr. Woodbury, NJ/West Deptford) was on the mound for the final three innings and earned the save. Swietanski only allowed two hits and he struck out six batters.

Right fielder John McMullin (jr. Woodbury, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) went two for five with a double and a triple. McMullin totaled three RBIs and scored three runs. Shortstop Roland Rodriguez (so. Miami, FL/Miami Killian) contributed with two hits (four at bats), two RBIs and two runs scored. Catcher Dan Krause (sr. Northfield, NJ/Mainland Reg.) had two hits in two at bats, one RBI and one run scored. Second baseman Tim Barnshaw (jr. Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick) added two RBIs.

Rowan (8-2) is off on Tuesday, March 18 and returns to action on Wednesday, March 19 against Salisbury University at the Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL.
