Rowan Finishes Third at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

Session Three Results

LANCASTER, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s swim teams finished in third place at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational. The men totaled 521 points while the women had 468. There were eight schools at the two-day invitational.

In the Sunday session, Kevin Wallace (sr. Somers Point, NJ/Lenape) won the 200 butterfly in 1:58.42. Jeff Terrell (fr. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) took first in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:57.30. Jake Taylor (so. Millville, NJ/Millville) came in second in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.34).

The men’s 400 freestyle relay had a third place (3:15.89) with Steve Tucker (jr. Pittsgrove, NJ/Sacred Heart), Sean Downey (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough), Wallace and Josh Spivey (fr. Margate, NJ/Atlantic City). The women’s 400 freestyle relay finished fifth (3:50.21). The relay consisted of Samantha Edwards (so. Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown), Stacey Rahter (so. Somers Point, NJ/Mainland Reg.), Alicia Mackleer (sr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) and Janina Wojcik (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.).

In the individual events, Rahter took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.45). Edwards finished fifth in the 1650 freestyle (18:58.33).

The Rowan men’s swim team travels to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, December 13 for a 1 p.m. meet.
