MADISON, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated host FDU-Florham, 4-1 in a nonconference game on Saturday evening.

Forwards Amanda Greene (sr. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester) and Lauren Ross (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) each scored two goals for the Profs. Rowan has an overall record of 13-3 while FDU-Florham drops to 9-10 on the season.

Ross had an unassisted goal at 12:34 that put the Profs up 1-0 after the first half. In the second period, Greene hit the net for her first unassisted goal at 41:07. Ross made the score 3-0 with her second goal at 52:15. It was her 14th of the year.

Forward Lauren Fabrizio (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) had the Devils’ lone goal at 63:30. About a minute later, Greene picked up her second goal to end the scoring. She is Rowan’s leading scorer with 45 points, 20 goals and five assists.

For FDU, goalie Jamie SanFilipo (sr. Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) made three saves. Goalie Lisa Apt (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was in the Rowan net. The Profs took 19 shots while the Devils had four.

Rowan returns to its conference schedule at Kean University on Thursday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m. The field hockey team plays its last game of the regular season at home on Saturday, November 8 against Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
