Rowan Goes 2-1 in Quad-Match at Stevenson University

STEVENSON, MD – The Rowan University volleyball team went 2-1 in a quad-match at Stevenson University on Saturday. Rowan defeated Penn State Berks and John Jay College, 3-0 and in between lost to host Stevenson, 3-0.

The Profs won 25-8, 25-17 and 25-21 over Penn State Berks. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (jr. Penns Grove, NJ/Salem County Christian Academy) paced Rowan with nine kills and four blocks. Outside hitter Alexis Louie (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) totaled seven kills, 15 digs and three service aces. Outside hitter Karen Ramirez (jr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) contributed with nine kills, 10 digs and three aces. Setter Chrissy McKay (jr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) compiled 33 assists and 13 digs. Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) registered 23 digs.

Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) had six kills, five blocks and one service ace in the Stevenson match. Outside hitter Krista Hendrickson (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Summit) added three kills, five blocks and three digs. McKay accumulated 20 assists and eight digs. The Mustangs had set scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-13.

Rowan blanked John Jay with 25-15, 25-18 and 25-13 set scores. Bowman was the kill leader with 10 and Hendrickson followed with seven. McKay totaled 24 assists and 11 digs. Roselle added 14 digs.
Next week, Rowan will host New Jersey City University in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on Tuesday, November 4 at 7 p.m.
