GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University and the University of Scranton played to a 1-1 tie after two overtimes in a nonconference game on Monday night.

Rowan is 3-7-2 on the season, while Scranton has a 4-3-4 mark. The Royals went ahead 1-0 at 2:56 in the first half. Forward Tim Logan (gr. Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) chipped in a pass from back Gary Racich (sr. Jackson, NJ/Saint Rose). Profs’ back Carmen Schiavo (jr. Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Twp.) found the back of the net at 52:20 to tie the game, 1-1. Midfielders Jason Choma (jr. Belford, NJ/Middletown N.) and forward Jay Vigilante (sr. Manasquan, NJ/Wall) both assisted on the goal.

Rowan out shot Scranton, 21-11. Profs goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (so. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) made three saves. Goalie Brandon Dombrowski (so. Hockessin, DE/Salesianum) played the first half in the Royals’ net and stopped two shots. Goalkeeper Justin Frick (so. Columbia, NJ/North Warren Reg.) turned away five shots in the final 65 minutes.

Rowan travels to Wilkes University on Wednesday, October 8 for a 4 p.m. contest.
