CHESTERTOWN, MD – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team split a tri-match at Washington College (MD) on Saturday. Rowan won the first match, 3-1 against Marymount University and lost the second, 3-0 to Washington College.
Against Marymount, Rowan won 25-16, 25-22, 19-25 and 25-23. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) and outside hitter Alexis Louie (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Tw.) compiled 13 and 12 kills respectively. Louie had a .321 hitting percentage while Pecoraro hit .308. Setter Chrissy McKay (jr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) totaled 13 assists while setter Sarah Betancourt (fr. Harrington, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) had 14.
Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) was the dig leader with 17. Louie contributed with 13 digs and defensive specialist Samantha Labriola (jr. Wallington, NJ/Wallington) added 11. Pecoraro recorded three solo blocks and four block assists.
Washington had set scores of 27-25, 25-22 and 25-19. Louie led the Profs with 14 kills. McKay accumulated 21 assists and 16 digs. Roselle registered 20 digs and Betancourt had 10.
Rowan (7-11) hosts conference opponent William Paterson University on Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m.
