GLASSBORO, NJ – Midfielder Jason Choma scored the game-winner in Rowan University’s 2-1 victory over New York University on Wednesday night.
Rowan improves to 7-8-3, while NYU has a 5-7-3 record. At 63:56, Choma (jr. Belford, NJ/Middletown N.) kicked in the winning goal off a pass from forward Jay Vigilante (sr. Manasquan, NJ/Wall). Violets’ midfielder Robert Keller (sr. East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) found the back of the net at 13:15 in the first half to give NYU a 1-0 lead at the intermission. The Profs tied the game when midfielder Andrew Ocbo (so. Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Twp.) headed the ball passed the goalkeeper. Back Randy Kohr (so. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) and Vigilante each picked up an assist.
NYU took 16 shots, while Rowan had 12. Goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (so. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) made six saves in the Profs’ net. Goalie Marek Urbanski (jr. Burlingame, CA/Mills) stopped five shots for the Violets.
Rowan hosts Rutgers-Camden in its final game of the season on Wednesday, October 29 at 7 p.m.
