POMONA, NJ – The Rowan University men’s and women’s cross country teams both took first place at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday. The championships were held at Richard Stockton College.

Jena Peacock (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) won the women’s individual title out of 106 runners. She finished the 4K course with a time of 16:26.34. Raneeka Doharty (fr. Orange, NJ/Orange) came in seventh place (16:56.28) and Lisa Jones (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) was 10th (17:10.68). Alli Catenacci (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) and Danielle Czohla (fr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) were 13th (17:20.67) and 14th (17:24.31) respectively.

Eric DuBois (fr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) was the men’s top runner. DuBois took third in 19:50.54 followed by Greg Kuczynski (sr. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) fourth (19:50.70). Kunal Sharma (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) finished fifth with a time of 19:51.73. Eric Thomas (sr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) had an 11th place (20:15.71) and Mike Rivera (sr. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) came in 13th (20:19.17).

The Rowan cross country teams have next weekend off before the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 1 at Richard Stockton College. The championship meet starts at 11 a.m.
