SELINSGROVE, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball lost its first two matches at the Hampton Inn Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna University. Rowan was defeated by York College (PA), 3-1 and Susquehanna University, 3-2.

Rowan has an 11-13 record. York is 14-11, while Susquehanna has a 21-9 mark.

The set scores against York were 25-15, 23-25, 25-10 and 25-23. For Rowan, outside hitter Alexis Louie (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) totaled 10 kills and 15 digs. Outside hitter Karen Ramirez (jr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) had 12 digs, eight kills and two service aces. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (jr. Penns Grove, NJ/Salem County Christian Academy) posted nine kills and two blocks.

Susquehanna won with set scores of 26-28, 25-13, 27-25, 24-26 and 15-8. Louie recorded 16 kills and 19 digs. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) added 13 kills and four blocks. Setter Chrissy McKay (jr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) compiled 22 digs and 47 assists. Libero Casey Roselle (so. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) registered 29 digs and one service ace.

The Hampton Inn Crusader Classic continues on Saturday, October 18. Rowan will face Misericordia University at noon and Richard Stockton College at 2 p.m.
