CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Rowan University women’s cross country team won the DeSales University Invitational and the men came in second on Saturday. The women were first with 73 points out of 18 teams. The men had 91 points to finish second among 20 schools.

Jena Peacock (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) took first place with a time of 22:57.89 over the 6K course. It was her best time of the season. Danielle Czohla (fr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) was 14th (24:25.55) followed by Lisa Jones (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) 15th (24:27.80). Also scoring were Raneeka Doharty (fr. Orange, NJ/Orange) and Alli Catenacci (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.), 22nd (24:56.03) and 23rd (24:59.00) respectively.

The men’s top runner was Eric DuBois (fr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick). DuBois was 11th in 27:49.15 on the 8K course. Brian Quilty (so. Brick, NJ/Saint Rose) was 16th (27:57.71) and Andrew Vasta (sr. Randolph, NJ/Randolph) came in 17th (28:00.74). Dan Ratty (sr. Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) finished 21st (28:09.58) and Mike Rivera (sr. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Old Tappan) was 26th (28:18.37).

The Rowan men’s and women’s cross country teams will travel to Richard Stockton College for the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday, October 18 at 11 a.m.
