Rowan Defeats Stevens Tech, 2-0

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated visiting Steven Tech, 2-0 on Wednesday night. The Profs ended the Ducks’ nine-game win streak.

Both of Rowan’s goals came in the second half. Forwards Amanda Greene (sr. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester) and Kiley Graham (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Shawnee) each had one. The Profs, ranked ninth in the nation, are 6-2 overall. The 20th ranked Ducks have a 9-1 record.

Greene knocked in a rebound at 58:04 after a shot. It was her ninth goal of the season. With 5:01 left, Graham added an insurance goal on a pass from back Jen Lipnickey (sr. Chester, NJ/West Morris-Mendham).

Rowan ended the game with 18 shots, 14 in the second half while Stevens took two. For the Profs, goalie Lisa Apt (fr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) made one save for first shutout. Goalie Stephanie Smith (sr. Hockessin, De/Sanford) stopped five shots for the Ducks.

Rowan is home again on Saturday, October 4 against Eastern University at noon.
