POMONA, NJ – The Richard Stockton College men’s soccer team had a 3-1 victory over New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponent Rowan University on Wednesday night.

The Ospreys improve to 8-3-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Rowan has a 3-7 overall record and a 0-4 NJAC mark.

Richard Stockton went up 1-0 following a goal by forward Rafael Duarte (so. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) 44 seconds into the first period. Forward Sean McCallum (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) picked up the assist. Rowan forward Dan Arnold (jr. Sicklerville, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) put back a feed from back Randy Kohr (so. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) at 20:07 to tie the game (1-1) heading into the intermission.

At 48:23 in the second half, Duarte scored on a pass from midfielder Pat Tolomeo (jr. Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) to give the Ospreys a 2-1 advantage. Back Brennen Fitzsimmons’ (fr. Neptune, NJ/Neptune) goal at 70:49 sealed the victory. Tolomeo collected his second assist of the night.

Richard Stockton out shot Rowan, 16-5. Goalkeeper Mat t Hart (jr. Dayton, NJ/S. Brunswick) made two saves for the Ospreys. In the Profs’ net, goalkeeper Charlie Cunliffe (so. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) stopped six shots.

Rowan hosts Ramapo College in a NJAC contest on Saturday, October 4 at 7 p.m. Richard Stockton travels to Rutgers-Newark for a 7 p.m. game on Saturday.
