BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s indoor track teams competed at the John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University. The men took eighth place, while the women came in 11th.

Kyle Hayes (fr. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) finished second in the long jump with a distance of 22’11.75” (7.00 meters). It marked his second straight week with a NCAA provisional jump (6.96 meters). Last week, he had a distance of 7.10 meters at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 18). Hayes also came in fifth in the 60 meter dash (7.20). Nehemiah Burney-Porter (so. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) placed sixth in the triple jump with 42’8.25” (13.01 meters) and seventh in the 60 meter hurdles (8.79). Brian Makinson (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) tied for fourth place in the high jump with 5’10.75” (1.80 meters).

The 4x800 meter relay team of Nick Huddy (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.), Eric Thomas (jr. Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee), Jeff Terebey (fr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) and Mike Rivera (jr. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) took fifth place with a time of 8:38.19. The 4x400 meter relay team finished sixth (3:40.23).

For the women, Dannielle Warren (jr. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) was fifth in the long jump with a distance of 17’0.5” (5.19 meters). Allison Catenacci (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) came in eighth place in the 500 meters (1:27.34).

Rowan competes at the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College on Saturday, February 2 at 10 a.m.
