GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s soccer shutout visiting Trinity College (CT), 3-0 on Saturday.
Forward Michelle Carrocino (fr. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) put the Profs up 1-0 with a free kick that ricocheted off the cross bar into the net at 32:43. It marked Carrocino’s sixth goal of the year. Back Megan Bry (so. Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Reg.) converted a penalty kick at 60:03 and forward Jenna Balestriere (jr. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) found the net on a cross from back Caitlin Lutz (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) for Rowan’s final goal at 68:04.
Rowan outshot Trinity, 10-7. Profs’ goalkeeper Melissa Hall (jr. Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) made three saves for her first shutout of the season. Goalie Emily Weedon (fr. Wellesley, MA) turned away two shots for the Bantams.
Rowan travels to Chestnut Hill College on Thursday, September 13 at 5 p.m.
