GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team shutout Haverford College, 5-0 at home on Saturday afternoon.
Forward Amanda Greene (jr. Thorofare, NJ/Gloucester City) and back Erin Tideman (sr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) each scored two goals and forward Danielle Miranda (sr. Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) had one. Tideman also recorded three assists.
Rowan is 2-1 overall while Haverford is 2-2 on the season. The Profs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first minute of the game. Greene hit the net at the 42 second mark on a pass from Tideman. At 14:00, Tideman made it 2-0 when she scored on a penalty corner. Greene connected again with Tideman and forward Leia D’Amboise (jr. Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) for a 3-0 advantage at 32:06.
In the final half, Tideman had her second goal at 56:33 with an assist from back Jennifer Lipnickey (jr. Chester, NJ/West Morris-Mendham). Miranda found the net at 57:40 for the final goal with a pass from Tideman.
Goalies Amanda Cucinotti (sr. Voorhees, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) and Amber Rosenberger (fr. Millville, NJ/Millville) shared the Profs’ duties. Cucinotti made one stop while the Fords’ goalie Sarah Graves (jr. Wilmington DE/Wilmington Friends) had eight saves. Rowan finished the game with 21 shots and Haverford took two.
Next week, Rowan hosts Messiah College on Thursday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
