GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Michelle Carrocino scored the winning goal in overtime for Rowan University in a 3-2 victory over visiting Centenary College on Friday night.
Carrocino (fr. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) had the game winner at 5:31 into the first 10-minute sudden victory overtime. The Profs (2-1) scored three straight goals after trailing 2-0. Carrocino started the come back at 46:50 when she knocked in a rebound after Centenary goalie Ashley Denti (fr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) saved back Alicia Kavlunas’ (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) shot. Forward Dana Ross (fr. Delran, NJ/Delran) headed in the tying goal on a cross from midfielder Krista Verzi (so. Delran, NJ/Delran).
Rowan totaled 28 shots while Centenary had 13. In the Profs’ net, goalie Melissa Hall (jr. Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) made seven saves. Denti finished the game with seven stops.
The Cyclones got on the scoreboard (26:58) with a goal by forward Clare Johnson (sr. Morris Plains, NJ/Morristown) and midfielder Sam Vanni (fr. Haskell, NJ/Lakeland) assisted. Midfielder Bianca Santulli (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) headed in a corner kick by forward Tanya DiDonna (sr. Colts Neck, NJ/Middletown S.) for the second goal at 45:49
