UNION, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team shut out Kean University, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.
Rowan improves to 5-7 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while Kean has a 3-8 overall record and a 1-3 NJAC mark. The Profs won with game scores of 30-20, 30-22 and 30-22.
Outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) led the way with 16 kills and 10 digs. Outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) collected 12 digs and seven kills. Defensive specialists Samantha Labriola (so. Wallington, NJ/Wallington) and Casey Roselle (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) added seven digs apiece. Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) posted 23 assists and seven digs.
For the Cougars, outside hitter Alicja Ciastoch (sr. Teaneck, NJ/Immaculate Conception) had seven kills and 15 digs. Middle blocker Nicole Bolash (fr. Clinton, NJ/Voorhees) contributed with 17 digs and outside hitter Ivana Kapetanovic (fr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had 15 assists.
Rowan hosts Rutgers-Camden in a NJAC contest on Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m.
