GLASSBORO, NJ – Forward Michelle Carrocino scored two goals to lead the Rowan University women’s soccer to a 3-0 victory over Philadelphia Biblical University on Thursday.
Carrocino (fr. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) leads the team with 13 goals. Rowan has won seven straight games and improves to 7-1, while Philadelphia Biblical has a 1-5 mark.
Midfielder Emilie Wilson (jr. Roxbury, NJ/Roxbury) put the Profs up 1-0 at 9:48 when she knocked in a pass from midfielder Devon Marx (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee). Carrocino had her first goal at 58:16 off of a feed from Wilson. Carrocino found the net again at 75:26 on a long pass from back Ashley Schaffer (so. Deptford, NJ/Gloucester Catholic).
Rowan out shot Philadelphia Biblical, 29-4. Goalkeeper Melissa Hall (jr. Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) made two saves for her second shutout of the year. Goalies Melissa Landis (sr. Jackson, WY/Jackson Hole) and Megan Garven (fr. Newton, PA/Council Rock N.) stopped 10 and one shot respectively for the Crimson Eagles.
Rowan returns to its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule at New Jersey City University on Saturday, September 22 at 1 p.m.
