CAMDEN, NJ – Midfielder Ronald Villatoro scored in the 73rd minute to lead the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Rowan University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday.

Villatoro (fr. Long Branch, NJ/Long Branch) put back his own rebound with 16:40 remaining in the game. With the win, the Scarlet Raptors improve to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Rowan is 4-3 overall with a 0-2 NJAC mark.

Rutgers-Camden took 10 shots, while Rowan had nine. Goalkeeper Brent Grunow (sr. Estell Manor, NJ/Buena Reg.) made four saves for the Scarlet Raptors. It was his third shutout of the season. For the Profs, Kevin Nuss (sr. Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) turned away three shots.

Rowan hosts New Jersey City University in a NJAC contest on Saturday, September 22 at 7 p.m.
