Women's Soccer Tops Montclair State, 2-1 in OT

MONTCLAIR, NJ – Midfielder Emilie Wilson scored the game winning goal in overtime to lead Rowan University to a 2-1 victory over Montclair State University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.

Just 31 seconds into the first sudden victory overtime, Wilson (jr. Roxbury, NJ/Roxbury) headed in a pass from forwards Dana Ross (fr. Delran, NJ/Delran) and Michelle Carrocino (fr. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.). Montclair State tied the game (1-1) on an unassisted goal by forward Christyn Scillieri (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley). Carrocino’s goal at 25:03 gave the Profs a 1-0 halftime lead. It was her eighth goal of the season.

Rowan took 12 shots, while Montclair State had 11. Profs’ goalkeeper Sarah Volkomer (so. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) made six saves. Leah Tepperman (so. North Andover, MA/North Andover) stopped six shots for the Red Hawks.

Rowan hosts Rutgers-Camden in a NJAC contest on Wednesday, September 19 at 7 p.m.
