Women's Volleybal Loses Two Matches at the University of Scranton Invitational

SCRANTON, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had its last two matches of the University of Scranton Invitational on Saturday. Hood College (MD) edged Rowan, 3-2 in the first match while King’s College won 3-1.

Against Hood, outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) totaled 16 kills and 11 digs. Outside hitter Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) contributed with nine kills and four blocks. Outside hitter Jessica Kelly (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) added seven kills and two blocks. Hood won 21-30, 30-18, 25-30, 30-25 and 15-12.

King’s had game scores of 30-19, 30-27, 24-30 and 30-20. Pecoraro compiled 12 kills and had a .462 hitting percentage. She also had seven digs. Louie recorded 10 kills and 18 digs. Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) posted 22 assists and 13 digs.

Rowan has its home opener on Tuesday, September 18 against conference opponent Rutgers-Newark at 7 p.m.
