SCRANTON, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team played two matches at the University of Scranton Invitational on Friday night. Rowan lost to Wilkes University, 3-1 and Johns Hopkins University, 3-0.

In division play on Saturday, Rowan faces Hood College (MD) at noon and King’s College at 2 p.m. The Profs are 2-5 on the season.

Wilkes took the first match 30-23, 30-24, 17-30 and 30-28. Outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) totaled 14 kills and 17 digs. Louie also had three service aces and three blocks. Outside hitter Jessica Kelly (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) contributed with six kills and four blocks. Outside hitter Casey Roselle (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) and defensive specialist Samantha Labriola (so. Wallington, NJ/Wallington) added 15 and 11 digs respectively.
Against Johns Hopkins, Louie compiled seven kills and 11 digs. Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) recorded 13 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Roselle had 13 digs and outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) followed with 12. Young also had five kills and seven assists. The Blue Jays won 30-19, 30-20 and 30-12.
