BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team won its last two matches at the Greyhound Premiere Invitational on Saturday.  In the silver bracket, Rowan defeated Sweet Briar College, 3-2 and SUNY Institute of Technology, 3-0.

The two-day invitational was held at Moravian College.  Rowan setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) was named to the All-Tournament Team  

Against Sweet Briar, Rowan had game scores of 30-14, 29-31, 30-21, 27-30 and 15-5.  Outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) compiled 13 kills and outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) followed with 11.  Young also had seven blocks and one service ace.  Louie added three aces and six digs.

Outside hitter Jennifer Conforth (fr. Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic) and outside hitter Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) contributed with 10 and nine kills respectively.  Pecoraro recorded four blocks and two aces while Conforth had two blocks.

Rowan swept SUNY Institute of Technology, 30-10, 30-22 and 30-27.  Pecoraro led the team with nine kills and she also had two blocks.  Outside hitter Casey Roselle (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) compiled 18 service points and six aces.

Rowan starts its conference schedule at Richard Stockton College  on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
