BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team started the 2007 season at the Greyhound Premiere Invitational. Ithaca College and Penn State Altoona both won 3-0 over Rowan in the first and second match of pool play.

The invitational at Moravian College continues on Saturday.  In the silver bracket, Rowan will play Sweet Briar College at 10 a.m. and SUNY Institute of Technology at noon.  Ithaca College edged Penn State Altoona, 3-2 to advance to the championship bracket.  

Ithaca College defeated Rowan, 30-20, 30-11 and 30-15.  Setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) totaled 12 assists, four digs and one block for the Profs.  Outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) contributed with seven kills, one service ace and one block.  Outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) added five kills and four digs.

Penn State Altoona had game scores of 30-14, 30-12 and 30-13.  Rowan outside hitter Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) had four kills, three blocks and six service points.  Defensive specialist Kacey Gee (fr. Middletown, DE/Caravel Academy) followed with two kills, four digs and eight service points.
