Rowan Competes At The Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

SWARTHMORE, PA – The Rowan University men and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore College on Monday.
 
Aaron Braxton (so. Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) won the discus with a throw of 156’5” (47.67 meters). Braxton’s best throw this year of 173’3” (52.81 meters) is a NCAA automatic that he recorded at the Danny Curran Invitational (3/31). Anthony Witter (jr. Millville, NJ/Bridgeton) took second in the discus with 147’8” (45.02 meters). He was also fourth in the long jump with a distance of 21’1.5” (6.44 meters). Tim Bowser (sr. Millville, NJ/Millville) placed second in the high jump with 6’4” (1.93 meters). 
 
Bryan Pittman (sr. New Brunswick, NJ/New Brunswick) came in fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.08. In the 400 meters, Chima Nwosu (sr. Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and Joseph Minch (sr. Yardville, NJ/Bordentown Reg.) finished ninth (50.66) and 13th (51.57) respectively. Michael Rivera (so. Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Reg.) was 16th in the 5,000 meters in 15:55.76.
 
Dannielle Warren (so. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) was the Profs’ only woman to compete. She took third place in the long jump with a distance of 17’1.5” (5.22 meters).

Rowan returns to action on Thursday, May 17 at the Lions’ Qualifier hosted by the The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ. The meet begins at 10 a.m.
