EWING, NJ – The Rowan University men and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed at the Lions’ Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey on Saturday.
 
Sean Corey (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) and Sean Biehn (fr. Edgewater Park, NJ/Burlington City) took first (191’11”, 58.50 meters) and second (189’0”, 57.62 meters) respectively in the javelin. Corey and Biehn’s throws were both NCAA provisionals (57.30 meters). Tim Bowser (sr. Millville, NJ/Millville) placed second in the high jump with 6’6.75” (2.00 meters). Nick Tyson (jr. Mt. Holly, NJ/Lenape) was tied for sixth in the pole vault with 13’7” (4.14 meters).
 
The 4x400 meter relay won with a time of 3:24.49. The relay consisted of Bowser, Taylor Kirk (fr. Oceanport, NJ/Shore Reg.), Joseph Minch (sr. Yardville, NJ/Bordentown Reg.) and Chima Nwosu (sr. Ewing, NJ/Ewing). Nwosu finished second in the 400 meters (50.90), while Minch was ninth (52.13). Bryan Pittman (sr. New Brunswick, NJ/New Brunswick) was third in the 100 meters in 11.13. Greg Kuczynski (so. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) came in fifth place in the 5,000 meters in 16:05.50. Erik Geisinger (sr. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) took seventh place in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:04.01. Kevin Gauntt (fr. Marlton, NJ/Seneca) was seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (15.61). 
 
For the women, Dannielle Warren (so. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) came in third place in the long jump with 17’7” (5.36 meters). Warren was also 12th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.31. Eileen Batten (fr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) placed fourth in the javelin with 109’11” (33.50 meters). Michelle Lala (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) had a sixth place in the high jump with 5’1.25” (1.56 meters). Ali Briggs (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 36’9” (11.20 meters). Chereyse Hepburn (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Oakcrest) finished ninth in the 100 meter hurdles (15.57). 
 
Rowan returns to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, May 5 for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships.
