GLASSBORO, NJ – Midfielder Kelly Angstadt scored six goals to lead Rowan University over Manhattanville College, 20-3 on Wednesday afternoon.

Attack Lauren Crennan (so. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) followed with four goals and one assist. Defenders Maureen Doyle (sr. Baltimore, MD/Sparrows Point) and Jackie McGarrigle (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) and attack Katie Kline (sr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) each contributed with two goals. Attacks Carly Welsh (so. Allenwood, NJ/Wall) and Caitlin Meseroll (jr. Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Twp.) and midfielders Kerry O’Donnell (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) and Therese Jones (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnainson) had one goal apiece. Welsh was the assist leader with three while midfielder Kaitlyn Molzon (fr. Howell, NJ/St. Rose) and Kline each totaled two.

Rowan improves to 2-2 on the season while Manhattanville has a 1-1 record. For the Valiants, midfielder Kelly McMurray (jr. Brenster, NY) scored twice and attack Abbe Grimes (so. Hamden, CT) had one goal.

Rowan totaled 35 shots while Manhattanville took 11. The Profs’ goalie Alicia Mannino (so. Richboro, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic) made six saves. In the Valiants’ net, Mary Albano (fr. Tumbull, CT) stopped eight shots.

The Profs started the game with two straight goals by Angstadt (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Crennan at 0:27 and at 3:33 respectively. McMurray put the Valiants on the scoreboard at 7:07. Rowan went ahead 6-1 in a span of 10 minutes. Kline scored twice while Crennan and Welsh each had one. Grimes recorded Manhattanville’s second goal at 18:48. The Profs closed the half with five unanswered goals. Angstadt contributed with two and Crennan, Doyle and O’Donnell each had one.

Rowan led 11-2 at the intermission. In the final half, Angstadt scored three times and McGarrigle hit the net twice. Crennan, Jones, Doyle and Meseroll had one score apiece.

Next week, Rowan is on the road at Cabrini College on Tuesday, March 20 at 6 p.m.
