Lebanon Valley Comes Back in Final Minutes to Win 68-62 Over Rowan

ANNVILLE, PA – The Lebanon Valley College women’s basketball team came back in the last two minutes of the game to win 68-62 over visiting Rowan University on Tuesday night.

With 1:34 left, guard Lori Lidlow (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) made two foul shots that tied the game at 61 for LVC. Rowan went back up by one on forward Jessica Nimbley’s (so. Middletown, NJ/St. John Vianney) free throw at 1:13. The Dutchmen then scored seven straight points for the victory. Guard/forward Megan Bish (jr. Littlestown, PA/Littlestown) nailed a three-pointer at the one minute mark and guard Jenna Gambino (sr. Mt. Airy, MD/Liganore) followed with a layup with 15 seconds remaining. Lidlow sank two more foul shots with four ticks left on the clock.

Lidlow finished the game with 14 points. Guard Amie Bickert (jr. Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) contributed with 13 points while forward Suzie Noyes (fr. Princeton, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) added 12. Noyes also pulled down seven rebounds and Gambino recorded five steals.

The Dutchmen are undefeated with an 8-0 record while the Profs are 3-2 on the season. Rowan had four players that scored in double figures. Nimbley had 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Guard Kristina Wallace (sr. Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) totaled 11 points while forward Amanda Jennings (so. Turnersville, NJ/Washington Twp.) and guard Danielle Rohe (so. Dumont, NJ/Dumont) had 10 apiece.

The first half ended with Rowan ahead by 11 points (39-28). The Profs were up 45-32 after a jumper by Wallace at 18:12. The Dutchmen trailed by four (47-43) after Lidlow’s jumper at 14:29. Rowan followed with a 7-1 run to lead by 10 (54-44) with 9:48 on the clock. At 3:53, LVC cut the deficit to two points (58-56) with two free throws by Noyes. Guard/forward Eryn Schultz (fr. Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) nailed a three that tied the game at 59 for the Dutchmen with 2:55 remaining. Nimbley put Rowan back up 61-59 (2:27) with a jumper before Lidlow tied the score with two foul shots. Noyes and Lidlow each scored 10 points in the final period.

The game was tied seven times in the first half. The last tie was at 28 after Gambino made two free throws at 2:59. Rowan rallied for 11 straight points to lead 39-28 at the intermission. Rohe started the surge with two three-pointers. Jennings added a foul shot and Nimbley posted two straight baskets. Rohe finished the half with 10 points.

This weekend, Rowan travels to Elizabethtown College for the Blue Jay Classic on Friday and Saturday, December 7-8. In the first round on Friday, Rowan plays Penn State Harrisburg at 8 p.m. and prior Trinity College (CT) meets Elizabethtown at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the consolation game is scheduled for 1 p.m. followed by the championship at 3 p.m.
