NEW YORK, NY – The New York University swimming and diving teams swept Rowan University on Saturday. The men had a 139-99 victory, while the women won, 155-85.

The Violet men improve to 3-0, while the women are 5-0. The Prof men and women both have a 2-1 mark.

The Rowan men took second place in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:43.26. The relay included Kevin Wallace (jr. Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Kevin Baker (sr. Landing, NJ/Roxbury), Dan Kelley (sr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) and Andrew Williams (sr. Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge).

Baker finished first in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.40) and Chris Mahoney (fr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) followed second (2:24.07). Baker also came in second in the 200 freestyle in 1:48.45. Jim Smith (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) was third in the 50 freestyle (22.58), while Kelley took third in the 100 free (49.93). James Sheerin (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) had a third place finish in the 1000 freestyle (10:56.97). Wallace was third in the 200 butterfly (2:07.08).

Bryan Carlisle (jr. Somers Point, NJ/Mainland Reg.) won both the one and three meter diving events. In the one meter, Carlisle totaled 288.45 points and he had 304.88 in the three meter. Mark Balesteri (fr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) came in second in the one meter (254.40) and Nate McCarson (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) was third in the three meter (226.50).

The Prof women finished second in the 400 medley (4:15.20) and 400 freestyle relays (3:47.63). The 400 medley consisted of Katherine Winters (fr. Princeton Jct., NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro S.), Meghan McCourt (so. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), Anne O’Gorman (fr. Boonton, NJ/Academy of St. Elizabeth) and Samantha King (so. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City). Christine DiRubbo (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee), Aileen Milde (sr. Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury), Stacey Rahter (fr. Somers Point, NJ/Mainland Reg.) and Alicia Mackleer (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) made up the freestyle relay.

Mackleer was a double winner in the 50 (25.78) and 100 freestyles (55.63). Milde took third in both events with times of 26:03 and 56.67 respectively. Samantha Edwards (fr. Pilesgrove, NJ/Woodstown) won the 500 (5:16.35) and 1000 freestyles (10:49.11). Winters was second in the 200 freestyle (2:00.91) and 200 backstroke (2:13.51). In the 200 breaststroke, McCourt came in second (2:33.45) and King was third (2:35.58). Rahter finished third in the 200 individual medley in 2:17.66. Christine Hackman (so. Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) was second in the one meter diving with 162.53 points.

Rowan hosts Ramapo College on Saturday, November 10 at 1 p.m.
