Rowan Splits a Tri-Match with Bryn Mawr and Delaware Valley

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team split a tri-match with Bryn Mawr College and Delaware Valley College on Saturday. In the first match, Bryn Mawr defeated Rowan 3-2. Bryn Mawr had a 3-2 victory over Delaware Valley in the second match. Rowan shut out Delaware Valley, 3-0 in the final match of the day.

Rowan has an 11-16 record. Bryn Mawr is 10-16 and Delaware Valley has an 11-13 mark. In the first match, Bryn Mawr won with game scores of 18-30, 30-23, 31-29, 20-30 and 15-8. For Rowan, outside hitter Alexis Louie (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) totaled 18 kills and five digs. Middle blocker Theresa Pecoraro (sr. Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) followed with 14 kills and four blocks. Outside hitter Siobahn Young (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) added 11 kills, while setter Chrissy McKay (so. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) had 37 assists.

Bryn Mawr beat Delaware Valley with game scores of 20-30, 31-29, 30-28, 17-30 and 15-12. For Delaware Valley, middle blocker Andrea Wolf (Held) (sr. Allentown, PA/Parkland) posted 23 kills and 14 digs. Outside hitter Jackie Holdsworth (sr. Dumont, NJ/Dumont) contributed with nine kills and 20 digs. Libero Kate Klish (jr. Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke) had 41 digs, while outside hitter Ashley Mikulsky (fr. Reading, PA/Exeter) added 30. Setter Bonnie Zobel (sr. Southampton, PA/William Tennent) compiled 35 assists.

Rowan defeated Delaware Valley 30-17, 30-19 and 30-18. Louie led the Profs with 14 kills and eight digs. Young posted 12 kills, six digs and six assists. Libero Casey Roselle (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) had a team-high 11 digs and Pecoraro accumulated six service aces. For Delaware Valley, Wolf collected 10 kills and seven digs. Klish recorded 31 digs and Zobel had 24 assists.

Rowan travels to Ramapo College for the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament on Tuesday, October 30 at 7 p.m.
